Brew banlist and proxy guide

Brew banlist and proxy guide

In addition to all rules which are applicable to regular premodern tournaments there are some unique rules for brewer events. These are designed to have different tournaments where people play unique brews or lower tiered decks.

  • In addition to the banlist of premodernmagic.com there is a additional banlist which can be found below. All these cards are selected to minimize overpowered decks and stimulate creativity.

Bolt The Bird proxy guide

On request of the player community, we have decided for brewer tournaments to allow a maximum of 8 proxies. We do have the guidelines for proxies written below:

  • You can use real Magic cards and proxies in the same deck

  • Make sure your proxies are the same size as actual Magic cards. For reference: a Magic card is 88.9mm by 63.5mm

  • Proxies have to be in full color, matching the original colors of the card you’re proxying. We prefer to proxy the original premodern printing of a card, not creative reprints on purpose

  • If you’re using a combination of proxies and real Magic cards, you will always double sleeve your entire deck

  • The main rule of thumb is: make sure your proxies are recognizable from a distance

  • Respect opinion of other players, not all players like proxies so do your best. That will encourage additional players and make sure everybody has fun.
